The definition of an allergy is “a damaging immune response by the body to a substance, especially pollen, fur, a particular food, or dust, to which it has become hypersensitive.” Allergic reactions can be from touch, ingestion, or airborne. The key is that allergies are an over reactive response to an individual that is sensitive to that “allergic” substance.
The scientific community has discovered an over production of histamines in many allergic or inflammatory responses in patients. The main treatment the medical community then prescribes when this reaction occurs is an Antihistamine or steroid.
Put aside for one moment the harmful effects that these medicines may have on a human being. The number one fact is that these antihistamines and steroids do not cure the issue. To cure or eradicate the illness should be the most important objective for both the physician and the patient. So why are you settling for treatments that are never going to cure the allergies you suffer with?
When people hear the word cure, they automatically become suspicious. “Allergies can’t be cured”. You would be right, if you decided to continue with Antihistamines and steroidal treatments. As I write, it’s already springtime. Many people have seasonal allergies; take hay fever, for example. These seasonal allergies come back year after year. If taking a Kenalag shot year after year is okay, and you feel there are no downsides to it, then this information is not for you. If you are sick and tired of dealing with the allergies, and realize that ongoing steroidal treatment is harmful, then you are absolutely in the right place.
If you found this blog on my website, www.homeopathylasvegas.com, then you know I practice homeopathic medicine. The question on the forefront of your mind is probably, how can I help you? Maybe it’s, “what is homeopathy exactly?” Please refer to my articles of what is disease, https://homeopathylasvegas.com/blog-2 (click What is Disease) and what is homeopathy https://homeopathylasvegas.com/blog-2 (click What is Homeopathy).
First, and most important, is that for the first time in your life (for most of you) this will be an experience where the whole person is looked at, not just a piece of you. The first step is to take a case history. This can take up to 90 minutes, but is usually done in 45-60. It’s an easy process if you pay attention to your symptoms. When I ask what I may help you with, the symptom that is most distressing at the present moment should be explained. I have seasonal allergies. I suffer from itchy eyes, runny nose, and sneezing. These symptoms are common to most hay fever type symptoms. Now we have to understand how these symptoms relate to you specifically. This is done by answering questions like what seems to make it better or worse. For instance: I sneeze when I am in a hot room. My eyes itch and cause tears, which seem to irritate my eyes and turn the lids red. I need to wash my eyes out to help the itch. As you can see, we are taking your symptom, and individualizing the problem so that it is unique to you.
After we’ve talked about your main symptom, we go to other symptoms, known as “concomitant symptoms.” Concomitant symptoms are symptoms that seem to have nothing to do with the main complaint, but are happening at the same time. Let’s say your main issue is that you have heartburn frequently. You notice that the heartburn gets better with hot drinks. You also notice that at the same time as the heartburn, you also experience extreme irritability or sadness, your concomitant symptoms.
This process goes on until all of the important symptoms are covered and a thorough understanding of the disease state is clearly understood. As you can see from merely a simple example, you are more than just the diagnosis, “heartburn”. You are more than just “hay fever”. All the symptoms which are not normally your experience is a part of the disease. The whole body is what needs to be treated in order to find a permanent cure for the disease.
Stop managing your problems. It is time to get well permanently. Eradicate your illness, have more energy, and lead a happier life. This is what a cure is all about.
Sincerely,
Dr. Alan Greenberg, APH
